He Got Up

Life has a way of delivering devastating blows that leave us wondering if we'll ever recover from health diagnoses, broken relationships, financial ruin, or emotional devastation. However, the resurrection of Jesus Christ provides the greatest comeback story ever told and offers hope for anyone who has been knocked down by life's circumstances.

The resurrection account in Matthew 28 reveals how Mary Magdalene and the other Mary discovered an empty tomb and received the life-changing message from an angel that Jesus had risen from the dead. This wasn't just a sad story with a happy ending - it was the ultimate battle between life and death, light and darkness, grace and sin. What appeared to be Jesus's defeat on Friday was actually the setup for His victory on Sunday, as death was powerless to hold Him.

Jesus understands our pain intimately because He stepped directly into human suffering, experiencing rejection, shame, and death itself. The greatest bullies we face aren't people but sin, shame, fear, and death - forces that regularly swing devastating blows at us. Yet Jesus faced each of these enemies and emerged victorious. The same resurrection power that raised Jesus from the grave now lives within every believer through the Holy Spirit. Getting back up isn't about our own strength but requires admitting we can't save ourselves, believing in Jesus's death and resurrection, and confessing Him as both Savior and Lord of our lives. Whatever has knocked you down was real, but it wasn't final - you have the power to rise again through Christ.
