The Characters of Christmas | Joseph

Dec 7, 2025    Martha Ta

Christmas represents God's perfect intervention in human history to rescue humanity from sin. Joseph, the unsung hero of the nativity story, demonstrates how God uses ordinary people for extraordinary purposes. When faced with Mary's unexpected pregnancy, Joseph chose righteousness and immediate obedience to God's plan.

His example teaches us six crucial lessons: God uses ordinary people, righteous character matters in difficult situations, we must listen and obey immediately when God speaks, we should be willing to endure stigma for God's purposes, we must take spiritual leadership in our families, and we should accept reproach for doing God's will.

Like Joseph, we're called to surrender completely to God's plan, even when it seems impossible or uncomfortable.
